 Books

The "Hiker's hip pocket Guide" is an outstanding book on hiking in the Mendocino Highlands, with history, camping information, trails, reviews and difficulty ratings. Complete coverage of the Mendocino Highlands!

If you already have this book, trails #39-#46 on pages 173-211 are all located by the middle fork of the Eel River, and you can get to these trail heads via Hwy 162 to Eel River Work Center. Then follow the signs on M1/Indian Dick road from there. The Hiker's Guide give complete details of each trail. If you would like to know which trails are in this area, you can also go back to the trails page in our Yolla Bolly Wilderness section.
