The trail system in the Wilderness is quite extensive and the loop trails are possible from most trailheads, minimizing the need to double back on your trip.

Trails in the Yolla Bollys tend to gain and lose elevation frequently, making the estimation of hiking times difficult.

Trail conditions will vary from those trails which are easy to follow, to trails that require a map and terrain reading skills.

Description of Covelo District trails are available at the district office. A topographic map of the Yolla Bolly Middle Eel Wilderness can also be obtained for a $4.00 fee from the Covelo District Rangers Office, located at 78150 Covelo Road, Covelo Ca 95428, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm.
