Arts Alive!

Fourth and fifth grade students of Paul Alphabeck's Round Valley Elementary class.

Paul Alphabeck, fourth/fifth grade teacher, participated in the ARTS ALIVE! program by bringing Michelle in to direct students in song, dance and to collaborate with students in songwriting.  Her goal was to create a confidence in which students could walk away from class, write a song and put their own story to a melody.  The class cast their energy into singing pop tunes, focused earnestly on learning a dance routine and had great fun with free-form dance to fiddle tunes.

Michelle also aided students in Beverly Kelley’s strings class with violin basics like how to take care of and clean the instrument and proper playing position and bow hold.  She coached them with rhythm, intonation and how to make a beautiful sound together.
