SECONDARY LEVEL ART Advanced Dimensional Design (One Year Course) |
This course is intended as an advanced study of three‑dimensional mediums and design. Further emphasis is placed on the history of three‑dimensional design, criticism, and the uses of dimensional design in architecture and furniture.
I. ARTISTIC PERCEPTION
Identify and describe visual and tactile qualities that exist in significant three‑dimensional works and analyze how they are organized to communicate expressive content and function.
II. CREATIVE EXPRESSION
To assist students in developing their creative capacities for use of intelligence, emotions, and learned skills.
III. HlSTORICAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXT
Acquire knowledge of historical and cultural developments which occur as a result of varying functional needs and aesthetic points of view in three-dimensional design.
IV. AESTHETIC VALUING
Develop a base for making informed aesthetic judgments from a wide exposure to different aspects of dimensional design.
V. CONNECTlONS, RELATlONS, APPLICATlONS
1. Identify connections and relationships between visual arts and other arts disciplines.
2. Apply knowledge and skills learned in visual arts to enhance learning outside the arts.
